In this blog post I will justify my design choices for my billboard advert and social media post for Litho healthy brand energy drinks.
The fonts I chose for the billboard advertisement was kept simple as people who will be seeing it will most likely be driving a vehicle and cant spend much time looking at the billboard so I made the font simple and easy to read while appearing elegant. The main focus for the billboard is to spread awareness of the company and its ideals so there is no product featured on the bill board and instead I placed a large logo of the company so customers saw who we was as well as our main slogan as well as another slogan in large text.
I made the main slogan of the company larger and more prominent by placing it in the top left of the image in a larger text than the other slogan as it is the slogan that best suits the company as the company offers healthy energy for its customers and the slogan fits as it is "healthier energy for you". I also decided the billboard looked empty in the centre so I added a low opacity tree in the background that is seen on the can and in the background of the logo. The colours within the billboard ad are very simple with the text being black so its easy to read for people who are driving and people who are far away alike, the only part of the bill board that deviates from this is the logo which is coloured a light blue so it can easily be distinguished from other company logos.
The fonts I chose for my social media advert is sleek, easy to read, and links to the target audience as it is a simple but energetic looking font despite being sans-serif. The reason I chose a sans-serif font was to make it easier to read for customers so they can easily read the slogan and key points of my drink. I positioned the can which is the product in the centre of the image to draw more attention to it as well as make it more apparent when you first look at the advert.
The can itself is large and blue so it draws the eye, furthermore its positioned in-between two curtains which make it seem more pronounced due to the fact people link opening curtains to either a grand reveal or the start of something which in this case is suits both descriptions as its the announcement of the drink as well and the start of the advertising campaign. The curtains suit the colour scheme of the advert as it is a deep blue which contracts well with the lighter blue used for the can's colour as well as allowing the text for the slogan and keywords to be readable.
The colour I used is mainly blue as the bright blue used for the can design is a bright vibrant colour that can be seen as a calming colour as well as a trust worthy colour. It could also mean things like sadness but I have aimed to use it as the previously mentioned connotations. The social media advert differs from the billboard advert I have made as this ad more so targets the younger spectrum of the target audience whereas the billboard advert is more simplistic and minimal which will allow the older spectrum of the target demographic to understand it more.
The billboard ad unlike the social media advert doesn't show the product we offer and instead only shows the company logo as well as slogans due the fact that the billboard advert will be looked into less as people who see it will most likely will be driving so it needs to be kept simple and easy to read and understand while being snappy and get the point across easily.
